Life's A Picnic, 100% Degradable Picnic Set - 8 Place Settings. The PicnEco Bag: a fun and environmentally-friendly picnic set, for picnickers on the go. Life's a Picnic, listed in the Independent Top 50 Picnic Products of 2007, was founded by Elly and Evie Pace, out of a love of picnics and the outdoors. Their products focus on combining style, practicality and eco-awareness. They are now introducing The PicnEco Bag, for spontaneous and carefree picnics with a conscience. Fitted into a jute bag with Life's a Picnic print are plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and napkins – all fully biodegradable/compostable. The PicnEco Bag is available for four or eight people. The bags are also available separately. If you want to be truly eco you can refill the bag with your own picnicware – and we don't mind if you do! Specifications: The jute bags are made and printed for us in India; they are ethically and sustainably produced by a family company who, amongst other projects, use the waste jute to help stop desert erosion. The bag has a removable internal divider which can also be used to accommodate 6 bottles, flasks or glasses. The Plates are made from 100% Sugar Bagasse, which is a fully bio-degradable vegetable starch. They can also be recycled. The Glasses are made from PLA bio-plastic, a plant-based, renewable, compostable plastic. This can be added to the organic waste your council collect if available, or composted in 6-8 weeks in your home compost. The Hot Drink Cups have a plant-based lining, so that they are both recyclable and compostable. The Napkins are made in the UK from 100% recycled chlorine-free materials, and can also be recycled or added to your compost heap. The Cutlery is made from vegetable starch, suitable for hot and cold food, and will compost in 180 days.
